Melton City Council – Melton Library & Learning Hub
Designed by architects Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp, the Melton Library & Learning Hub was an experimental facility which aimed to address changes in the nature of information accessibility. As the audio visual consultant appointed to the project, UT Consultants worked to design systems which facilitated an integrated approach to learning.
UT Consulting designed audio visual systems that were about sharing information, whether in a meeting space, auditoria, gaming area, or via digital signage. As an experiment, it was crucial we understood the community’s needs prior to commencing the design. Because of the diversity of users, we were committed to designing a user-friendly and robust service, enabling all members of the community to utilise the technology in the library.
To facilitate the needs of the community, we designed seventeen different areas each containing individual systems, from meeting rooms, to a full auditoria – we often had systems switching between up to ten sources and of course, all vision was available in full 1080p.
