Yarra Valley Grammar – Performing Arts and Media Centre
UT Consulting has recently completed the audio visual design, documentation, and coordination services for the Yarra Valley Grammar – Performing Arts and Media Centre (PAMC)!
Building on the school’s long standing tradition in the arts, the PAMC introduces students to emerging creative technologies and contemporary production methods. UT Consulting was engaged to lead the infrastructure design of audio visual systems within the new facility.
All about the AV
Yarra Valley Grammar set out to create a space where students could easily move between rehearsal, production, and performance. Led by Daniel Knoche, UT Consulting designed audio visual systems to support this vision, with a focus on usability, flexibility, and future proof design.
We worked closely with Hayball, Gallagher Jeffs, and Yarra Valley Grammar stakeholders through a series of design workshops to ensure the AV solution was tailored to the school’s teaching methods as well as creative and technical aspirations.
The facility includes a Black Box theatre, Production Studio, Control Room, Music Rehearsal Studio, AV Gallery, and a suite of general-purpose classrooms for Choral, Dance, Drama, and Media. Key technologies our team designed for included:
- Video capture, live switching, and recording systems
- Theatre Lighting systems
- LED wall for performance and virtual production
- Digital signage
- Hearing augmentation systems
- Remote audio performance to allow music to be played in the Music Rehearsal Studio and heard for productions in the adjacent George Wood Performing Arts Centre
Our goal was to create an audio visual environment that facilitated students’ creative independence and delivery of the school’s curriculum.

Project Outcome
The PAMC has created a beacon for creative education on campus and a true centre for the performing arts. The facility is now equipped with leading technology solutions, allowing students to collaborate and build confidence through performance and media engagement.
As noted by the Governor of Victoria at the official opening, the facility is “more than just bricks and mortar”, it’s a platform for students to discover their voice, deepen their appreciation of the arts, and pursue pathways into the creative industries.
